CLIMATE

SHELTERED ON ITS NORTHERNMOST BORDER by the Sierra de Cantabria and in the South by the Sierra de la Demanda, this entire zone benefits from the confluence of two very different climates -that of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. This results in mild temperatures, average annual rainfall of 450 millimetres, and a rich diversity of microclimates, with temperatures reaching a low of– 4ºC in the winter and 40ºC in the summer, which, combined with the regions’ superb sunshine, are ideal conditions for the perfect ripening of grapes.
